After graduating cum laude in 1976 from the University of Pennsylvania, he attended and graduated from Temple University School of Law in 1980, where he served on the Law Review and received the Barristers Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy. Eisenberg has been a Visiting Lecturer at Temple University, Beasley School of Law, for the LLM Program in Trial Advocacy and an Adjunct Professor of Law teaching Introduction to Trial Advocacy to second year law students.Eisenberg is on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Volunteer for the Indigent Program (VIP) (where he has represented clients on a pro bono basis for over 30 years), serves on the Board of Directors of the Lawyers Club of Philadelphia, and the Brandeis Law Society Foundation. He has served for decades, as an Arbitrator and a Judge Pro Tem for the First Judicial District Court of the Common Pleas of Philadelphia County. He is a member of Public Justice (formerly Trial Lawyers for Public Justice), a Fellow of the Roscoe Pound Foundation and of the Litigation Counsel of America. Eisenberg has recently achieved the largest jury award in Pennsylvania history of $55.3 million for his client who was paralyzed after the seatbelt in his Honda vehicle did not protect him in a rollover accident. He has represented construction workers in achieving the biggest settlement on record, $101 million, for a garage collapse at the Tropicana Casino complex in Atlantic City, New Jersey. His first multi-million dollar verdict was in the landmark case of Feld v. Merrian, where he represented the victims of a brutal criminal assault against the security company and the landlord of an apartment complex for failing to provide adequate security. He has argued cases on appeal in the Pennsylvania Superior and Supreme Courts; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, which have involved changing the law in a number of areas, including liability for serving alcohol to minors, rules of evidence, medical malpractice, criminal acts of third parties as a result of negligent security, and victims of child sexual abuse. In the Pennsylvania Superior Court, he has helped change the law so that minors can hold drunk drivers and liquor licenses liable without proof of visible intoxication. He changed the law to allow for recovery by incapacitated persons against those who put them in danger without their knowledge. He has also attempted to extend the statute of limitations for victims of child sexual abuse. He has lectured to lawyers at over 100 seminars and continuing education programs for The Pennsylvania Association of Justice, The American Association for Justice, The Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, The Pennsylvania Bar Institute, The New Jersey Association for Justice, The Delaware Trial Lawyers Association, The National Crime Victims Bar Association, The Attorneys Information Exchange Group (AIEG), and The Dispute Resolution Institute. He is the author of numerous articles published in legal periodicals and his topics have included crashworthiness, ethics, trial tactics, evidence, medical malpractice, crime victim’s rights, jury selection, deposition strategies, bad faith claims, governmental liability, settlements of minor’s and wrongful death cases, dram shop liability and products liability.
