| Description | Sara E. Burns is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University (2006) with degrees in Political Science and History. Ms. Burns received her J.D. in 2010 from Temple University Beasley School of Law during which time she received Distinguished Class Performance awards in Trusts and Estates, Taxation, Estate & Gift Taxation, and Corporate Taxation. She was a member of the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal and her article, Expanding the Marital Deduction: An Analysis of International Systems of Taxation, Their Treatment of the Taxable Unit, and the United States’ Inadequate Marital Deduction, is published in the Journal’s Spring 2011 edition. In 2011, Ms. Burns received the degree of Master of Laws in Taxation, with distinction, and an Estate Planning Certificate from Temple Law, after which she joined Diamond, Polsky & Bauer. She concentrates her practice in estate planning, estate administration, and tax planning in the firm’s Philadelphia and Media offices. Ms. Burns has participated in Wills for Heroes, a program which provides estate planning documents, including wills, health care directives and powers of attorney, to our nation’s first responders, free of charge. Additionally, she has volunteered as an income tax preparer with the Campaign for Working Families. Ms. Burns is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars. She is a member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations, the Probate and Trust Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council, and the Delaware County Estate Planning Council. |
