DescriptionMichael Bodik was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1993 and has more than 20 years of experience in the area of workers’ compensation law. Mr. Bodik joined Steinger, Iscoe & Greene in 2006. He is currently the managing director of the Workers’ Compensation Department of the law firm of Steinger, Iscoe & Greene, where he exclusively represents injured workers.Prior to joining Steinger, Iscoe & Greene, Mr. Bodik was an equity partner and the head of the Workers’ Compensation Department of the law firm of Wagner, Johnson, McAfee and Bodik, P.A., where he practiced from 1993 through 2000. Additionally, he founded and was the head of the Workers’ Compensation Division of the law office of Lawrence M. Burrell Jr., P.A., from 2000 to 2002. He also was the senior associate attorney at both the law firm of Varner and Thorne, P.A., and the West Palm Beach office of Miller, Kagan, Rodriguez & Silver, P.A. Additionally, he has more than 10 years of experience in Social Security Disability law.Mr. Bodik has successfully represented more than 5,000 injured workers and negotiated settlements on thousands of workers’ compensation cases, including on multiple occasions, securing benefits in excess of $1 million. Mr. Bodik has successfully obtained the purchase of a handicapped-accessible home with a swimming pool in prestigious Jupiter, Florida, for a paraplegic client. In addition, he has successfully litigated cases in multiple counties throughout Florida, prevailing in the majority of workers’ compensation trials over the past twenty years. Mr. Bodik represents the injured on all types of workers’ compensation cases, from the most basic to the most complex of matters, including matters that involve Medicare set-asides, annuities, safe haven accounts, and catastrophic injuries such as paraplegics, quadriplegics, closed head injuries, and severe burns.Mr. Bodik has secured aid and attendant care of up to twenty-hours/seven days a week and long-term care facilities for clients. He also has successfully represented the dependent spouses and family members of workers who have died on the job. Mr. Bodik represents the injured both on specific accidents, as well as on repetitive microtrauma, exposure, sick building matters, and was selected by a judge’s assistant to represent her on a sick building matter. Additionally, he has represented multiple paralegals and others within the field on workers’ compensation matters.Prior to attending law school, Mr. Bodik’s background was in business, including obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New York in business administration, with split concentration in finance and management. He combines his financial background and knowledge with his negotiating skills to secure significant value settlements for his clients.In addition to being licensed to practice in Florida state courts, Mr. Bodik has been licensed to practice in the United States Federal District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida since 1994.
