DescriptionDaniel M. Bachi, originally from Scotch Plains, New Jersey earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting graduating magna cum laude from Jacksonville University in 1981. He was recognized as a member of the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society. He attended law school at the University of Florida College of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree with honors in 1984. Mr. Bachi spent 18 months at the first District Court of Appeal in Tallahassee as a senior law clerk to Chief Judge Anne C. Booth. In this role he reviewed appellate briefs and assisted in the analysis of the legal issues on appeal and in the writing of appellate opinions. In 1985 Mr. Bachi began his private practice with the law firm of Jones & Foster, now Jones, Foster, Johnson and Stubbs, where he began defending and litigating personal injury and wrongful death claims on behalf of insurance companies, manufactures, retailers, institutional clients, and health care professionals. In 1988 the defense litigation section of Jones and Foster spun off and founded Sellars, Marion and Bachi P.A. The parting was friendly and amicable, as Jones and Foster had decided to move in a different direction with respect to its business model. Mr. Bachi has handled a wide variety of civil litigation matters over his 28 year career and has practiced with essentially the same firm his entire career. In 1992 Mr. Bachi achieved the Florida Bar designation of Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer, and he has been re-certified as such every five years. Additionally, from 1995 through 2005 he held a second Florida Bar designation as Board Certified in Appellate Practice. This dual certification made him uniquely qualified to handle civil litigation matters from start to finish including the handling of any appeals and extraordinary writs. Over the course of his career Mr. Bachi has been trusted by various clients to handle numerous high-profile cases, including litigation surrounding the death of 21 polo ponies in Wellington Florida in 2009, defense of a wrongful death claim brought by an apprehended shoplifter against Albertson’s Grocery Stores in 1996, defense of Jay Levin in a wrongful death claim involving the shooting death of a 16-year-old while he was playing ding dong ditch in a Boca Raton residential neighborhood in 2003, and the defense of John B. Goodman in the wrongful death claim arising out of a 2010 automobile accident resulting in the death of a young man. Mr. Bachi has also spent over 25 years representing professionals such as chiropractors and veterinarians. Mr. Bachi, an avid sports fan, has volunteered time coaching youth basketball and assisted in the running of wrestling tournaments at Wellington High School. Mr. Bachi is admitted to practice law in all of Florida’s state courts, the U.S. Supreme Court, 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeal, as well as the Federal District Courts in both the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. He is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association and holds Martindale-Hubell’s AV Preeminentâ„¢ rating, which is the highest rating issued by that peer review service. Mr. Bachi focuses his practice on personal injury and wrongful death litigation, including malpractice, products liability, premises liability and insurance bad-faith
