DescriptionMark grew up in Bellingham, Massachusetts, and graduated from Mount Saint Charles Academy in nearby Woonsocket, Rhode Island in 1977. He attended Assumption College, graduating cum laude, in 1981. He then enrolled at Suffolk University Law School, earning a Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 1984. At Suffolk Law, Mark was president of the Moot Court Board, and gained trial experience as a Public Defender in the Dorchester District Court. Mark began practicing law in Springfield at Ryan & White, P.C., in 1985. At Ryan & White, Mark tried civil and criminal cases in Hampden, Hampshire, Berkshire and Franklin counties, and argued cases on appeal. He also tried cases at the Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents (DIA). Moving back to his hometown following the birth of his daughter Sara, Mark was hired as an associate at the Natick firm of Ricklefs, Uehlein & Nason, where he defended workers’ compensation claims at the DIA and before our appellate courts. He was subsequently hired by the Law Office of Sherwin Kantrovitz to represent injured workers, and continued to represent accident victims in private law practice. He also represented victims of disability, race and gender discrimination at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and in the trial court. Following a brief stint trying cases at McNamara & Associates in Marlboro, in 2004, Mark was appointed by Governor Mitt Romney to serve a six year term as an administrative law judge (ALJ) at the DIA. In 2010, he was reappointed to serve a second six year term by Governor Deval Patrick. At Kenney & Conley, P.C., Mark is concentrating his practice on representing injured victims of negligence and other misconduct. Mark has taught courses in Constitutional law, American Government and U.S. History as an adjunct professor at Quincy College, and is a guest lecturer at Assumption College, where he volunteers as a member of its moot court/pre-law program. Since 1990, Mark has been a frequent lecturer at programs sponsored by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education and the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA).
