DescriptionAshley DeBoard is the founding attorney of Flagstaff Law Group and focuses her practice on providing estate planning and family law services to families and individuals throughout northern Arizona. Estate Planning Ashley’s estate planning practice focuses on the protection of minor children, wealth preservation, and values-based planning, as well as planning for incapacity. Ashley supports her clients to achieve the peace of mind today by knowing they have secured their futures for tomorrow. She works with clients to counsel them about the law and she empowers her clients to choose a plan that truly represents their priorities, values, and budget. Whether you are married or single, have a traditional or blended family, are just starting out or looking back on a life well-lived, Ashley will help you create a plan for your loved ones today and will support you in maintaining that plan for the years to come. Family Law Ashley’s family law practice focuses on Collaborative family law, as well as divorce, child custody, support, and other matters. Ashley is certified by the IACP as a Collaborative family law attorney. As a Collaborative practitioner, Ashley helps her clients explore other options that differ from the costly, zero-sum game of traditional litigation. She educates her clients about the benefits of the Collaborative law, where parties share a commitment to proceed honestly, respectfully, and in good faith in a process outside of the courtroom. Ashley’s Collaborative practice uses interests-based negotiation to identify the shared goals and individual interests of both parties, with a search for resolutions that meet the needs of both parties and create more durable outcomes in a case. Ashley believes the Collaborative process is especially suited toward families with minor children because the ability to positively co-parent and keep children out of their parents’ conflict is critical to minimizing the harm to children that can result from a traditional litigated family case. About Ashley Ashley was raised in Flagstaff and is grateful to live and practice in her hometown community. Ashley attended Northern Arizona University, graduating summa cum laude. She received her law degree from Lewis and Clark Law School, graduating cum laude. As a law student, Ashley clerked for the Oregon Department of Justice General Counsel Office and for Earthrise Law Center, a public interest environmental litigation clinic. Ashley began her law career in private practice as an associate at Aspey, Watkins & Diesel, practicing family law, bankruptcy, and civil litigation. In 2012, Ashley joined the Coconino County Attorney’s Office, serving as a Deputy County Attorney. For several years, Ashley prosecuted misdemeanor, felony, and juvenile cases and served on two problem solving court teams (Recovery Court and Mental Health Court). In 2015, Ashley transitioned to the civil section of the County Attorney’s Office, serving as general counsel to the County, its elected officials, and various departments and taxing districts. Ashley’s practice as a civil deputy included land use, civil litigation, transactional and real estate practice, guardianships, tax, and many other local government matters. In 2019, Ashley formed Flagstaff Law Group, and is pleased to use her broad experience to serve her clients throughout northern Arizona. Ashley is also a busy mother of two boys. She credits her children for bringing her a deeper awareness to the needs for families and for inspiring her to design plans that families can count on to work when they are needed most. When she is not practicing, Ashley enjoys reading, gardening, and playing outdoors in this beautiful community with her family.
