| Description | Steven Marks is a Miami native who has lived, worked and raised his family in South Florida. Mr. Marks graduated in 1979 with a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law. In 1976, he was awarded his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at the University of Southern California, magna cum laude, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1979, Steve initially entered the private practice of law in Miami as a sole practitioner. He has tried significant Plaintiff negligence, wrongful death, commercial contract, and criminal defense cases before juries, and the bench, in State and Federal Courts. The most recent of which was as lead trial counsel representing Florida Atlantic University, in a Whistleblower action, which resulted in a Defense jury verdict. He has handled mediations, and arbitrations in negligence, complex business, stock brokerage and real estate acquisition litigation; has tried and been a certified expert witness in property management litigation; handled all aspects of domestic relations mediation and litigation; county and city commission special use and zoning variance matters; authored partnership and trust agreements; handled probate matters; and negotiated employment contracts for numerous NFL players (two All-Pros) as an NFLPA certified player agent. Steven Marks has been a member of the Florida Bar and American Bar Association for forty years. Mr. Marks was admitted to practice before The State of Florida 3rd District Court of Appeals, The Florida Supreme Court, The United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, The United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and also the Supreme Court of the United States of America. His current primary practice areas are Plaintiff major casualty cases; trucking and automobile catastrophic life altering injury or wrongful death cases; commercial business; and, sports law. |
