Before Stites & Harbison, Ms. Rutledge was an attorney at Howrey LLP in Houston, where she worked on nanotechnology, novel polymers, biological implants, biotechnology, methods of diagnosis and treatment, medical devices, analytical instrumentation, milking machines, oilfield technologies and wireless communications. She also filed amicus curiae brief to the United States Supreme Court on behalf of Tulane University in Wallace v. Calogero, representing their interest in the rights of legal immigrants to sit for the bar exam in the state of Louisiana.Prior to entering the legal field, Ms. Rutledge worked at Valspar in Louisville, KY, to develop and improve solvent and water-borne colorant.
