| Description | Louis J. DeVoto is certified as a civil trial attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is a Past President of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey. In 2011, Mr. DeVoto received the ‘Professional Lawyer of the Year’ award by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law and was selected by his peers as one of the Lawyers of the Year in the State of New Jersey for the 2017 Best Lawyers publication. Mr. DeVoto has extensive jury trial and appellate experience having achieved many verdicts and settlements in excess of one million dollars and having argued cases in front of the New Jersey Supreme Court. He concentrates his practice on plaintiff’s personal injury law handling all types of serious injury and wrongful death cases caused by the careless and reckless conduct of others. His case results have appeared in the New Jersey Law Journal’s featured verdicts and settlements on many occasions. Lou has written legal articles on the law for national legal publications and frequently lectures for New Jersey’s Institute for Continuing Education including the Annual Civil Case Law ‘Year in Review’ where he provides practical commentary for lawyers on the most important legal decisions of the year. He is an active member of the Burlington and Camden County Bar Associations and the American Association of Justice-NJ. The New Jersey Law Journal recognized Mr. DeVoto in 2002 as one of the top 40 attorneys in the State under the age of 40. Martindale Hubbell has awarded him with its AV rating, the highest achievable for legal skill and ethics. In 2015, Lou was accepted as an Associate member in the American Board of Trial Advocates.Mr. DeVoto is licensed to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court and all Federal and State Courts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. His practice is made up of 100% plaintiff’s personal injury litigation. He resides with his wife and three children.
