Description | Katherine Neal was born in San Antonio, Texas and grew up throughout the United States and overseas as an Army Brat. She learned the value of hard work and commitment to excellence from her father, a Brigade Commander and Colonel in the United States Army. Katherine is fiercely dedicated to providing personalized service to each client. She refuses to be the type of lawyer that most people expect. She returns each phone call and email personally and quickly. She prides herself on her accessibility to clients and her excellent communication skills. Katherine believes that a lawyer cannot adequately represent an injured client without closely learning that client’s entire story. As such, she spends hours truly getting to know her clients. She wants to understand how each client’s injury or loss has affected their health, finances, goals, work, and plans. Every client’s story is unique and personal, and Katherine never tires of learning them. Katherine then uses that information (which she calls ammunition) to fight hard to get each client the justice they deserve. Katherine has spent her entire legal career as a trial lawyer, concentrating only in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death and crematory, and cemetery malpractice. She has never practiced any other type of law. As such, she has spent a decade and a half perfecting her trial skills and pre-litigation strategies to maximize verdicts and settlements for her clients. Katherine Neal is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer, which means The Florida Bar considers her an expert in her field. To our knowledge, she is the youngest Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer in the history of the State of Florida. Katherine loves being a part of each client’s restoration story. Her favorite part of the job is seeing the peace and appreciation on a client’s face upon resolution of their case, whether by settlement or jury verdict. She gets great personal satisfaction from playing a major role in her clients’ reduced stress, restored health, and financial improvement. Katherine received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from Penn State University in 2002 and her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law in 2004. While in law school, she served as a judicial intern for a County Court Judge and was certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Judicial Intern for the Sixth Circuit State Attorney’s Office. She won the St. Petersburg Times Award for the Best Competition Paper and was a senior associate of The Stetson Law Review. Katherine also served as a Stetson Ambassador, wherein she assisted new law students as a mentor and advisor. Katherine is a co-author of a personal injury book entitled A Conversation with Our Clients and is also the host of a weekly radio show, Lawyers with Purpose, which airs every Friday at 5:00 PM on Inspiration AM 1110. Katherine is a proud parent of two young daughters and one son. In her spare time, she teaches a single mother’s Bible study and a Jobs for Life course, counseling unemployed and underemployed individuals in her community. She also volunteers in the newborn nursery at her church and enjoys organizing social activities between preschoolers and senior citizens at a local assisted living facility.
