Prior to starting her own law firm, Mrs. Rymer-Hawkins worked in the insurance and banking industries, where she gained extensive experience as an accountant, auditor, and private banker. She spent about five years with a national tax firm, gaining valuable experience working with both taxable and tax-exempt entities and about four years working for an offshore private bank and trust company in the Bahamas where she administered many trusts and companies with over 700 million dollars in assets under administration Mrs. Rymer-Hawkins is active in the community as well, having served as a board member of several non-profit organizations and churches in the greater Houston area, and providing many volunteer hours with the Tahirih Justice Center, where she currently serves as a pro bono attorney working on behalf of immigrant women and girls fleeing violence and seeking justice. Mrs. Rymer-Hawkins is also a trained chef, having graduated from the Art Institute of Houston in 2002 and has an affiliated company called Coconuts & Spice, where she displays her excellent culinary skills in tandem with her legal work. Mrs. Rymer-Hawkins is married to Mr. Zin Hawkins and together they have two sons, three daughters and seven grandchildren. |
