| Description | My Early Years I was born and raised in Iowa, in a small town outside Des Moines. There, I gained a solid moral foundation, understanding how to be a good person and treat people well. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University with double majors in political science and psychology. During college I also lettered in varsity track, competed as an Academic All-Big 8 Athlete, and received several scholarships. After completing my undergraduate studies, I moved to the east coast for law school and earned my Juris Doctor (law) degree from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware. My New Jersey Legal Career I was privileged to begin my legal career at the Delaware Attorney Generals Office as an assistant deputy attorney general for the State of Delaware. In only 18 months, I tried 12 jury trials and over 60 non-jury trials. In 2001, I left Delaware and moved to New Jersey. I am currently licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. I have represented employees and citizens of New Jersey against multi-million dollar companies as well as state and local municipal government. In doing so, I have zealously provided representation to clients whose rights have been violated and have prosecuted across all of the Mark Law Firm’s practice areas. Because of my Midwest upbringing, I represent my clients with a refreshing feel of honesty and communication. I do not talk down to my clients or neglect them by disregarding their questions or concerns; instead, I speak to them on a personal level and strive to fully understand their situations. I truly love my job and I may be one of the few attorneys you will ever meet who says that! I live by the philosophy do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life. My Life Outside Of Work I live in a great community in New Jersey, where I am actively involved in welfare efforts that impact my neighbors, family, and friends. I am a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary club, and my church, and have spent time as a baseball, softball, and soccer coach. I’m also involved in basketball, track, and any other activities in which my kids participate. My wife and I met in high school, went to college together, have been married over 20 years, and plan to grow old together. We have three beautiful daughters who, as I accept, run my life! I live and practice law by the theory that if you do right by people, you will do well. This means I take the time to explain to my clients the details of their case, how it is progressing, and the options they may be able to explore. My integrity, high standards, morals, and honesty have made me a caring and skilled attorney who has earned respect from my colleagues as well as my adversaries. I am here to help you. I will offer an honest and fair evaluation of your case up front and discuss whether I believe your case is worth pursuing or if there is an alternate course of action that may provide you better closure. In trying to produce the best outcome for your situation, I treat you like I would treat my own family. To me, you are more than a client.
