DescriptionFred L. Somers, Jr. is a J.D. graduate of the University of Virginia Law School and College of Arts and Sciences (A.B. Philosophy). He is a graduate of the Provost Marshal General’s School (1st Lt. USAR) where he taught criminal justice law during his active military service. He is a member of the American, Georgia, Atlanta and Virginia Bar Associations and American Society of Association Executives. Mr. Somers is a past president and board counsel of the National Club Association and was a founding director of NCA Foundation. He presently is General Counsel to and Secretary of International Light Transportation Vehicle Association (‘ILTVA’) and is responsible for the maintenance of the ANSI accredited vehicle safety standards for which ILTVA is the accredited sponsor. Fred is a past General Counsel of the National Golf Foundation and past Chairman, Government Relations Committee, Georgia State Golf Association. He is counsel and consultant to the National Association of Trade Associations, LLC and to numerous private clubs. Mr. Somers concentrates in trade association matters and golf and recreational club organization, governance and corporate transactions.
