| Description | EvaMarie Fox is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law and is admitted to practice in both Connecticut and New York State Courts, as well as Federal Court for the District of Connecticut. Attorney Fox’s primary areas of practice include matrimonial and family law, including prenuptial and postnuptial contract drafting, divorce litigation, and post-judgment modifications and enforcement actions; trust and estate matters; employment matters, including negotiation of employment contracts and separation agreements, business dissolutions, and discrimination disputes; civil litigation; and education law issues. She is personally involved in all aspects of representation from client intake through trial, working directly with clients for the entirety of their cases.While earning a B.S. in Psychology and a B.A. in Political Science from Boston College, Attorney Fox began working at a small civil law firm in Connecticut. She continued her work there throughout law school and became an Associate Attorney upon graduation, overseeing casework for the firm’s clients for several years thereafter. In this role, she managed and litigated all matrimonial and family law matters and regularly handled trust and estate matters and civil litigation.During this time, Attorney Fox also worked in Fordham’s Family Law Advocacy Clinic, where she handled both family law cases and special education matters. She initiated the Clinic’s first lawsuit in Federal Court and received a favorable decision, which was groundbreaking for both Fordham and law school clinics throughout the state. In addition to her clinical work, Attorney Fox studied prenuptial and postnuptial agreements and divorce litigation under Attorney Vikki Ziegler, star of Bravo’s Untying the Knot.Although Attorney Fox often works with high net worth individuals, whether it be a high asset divorce, a complex estate plan or negotiation of a substantial severance package, she has extensive experience working with individuals and families from various backgrounds. Attorney Fox’s experience includes guardian ad litem work at the Children’s Law Center of Connecticut, where she represented minors in highly contentious custody disputes, often in high profile family court and criminal court matters. She worked on cases ranging from complex relocation proceedings to emergency removal proceedings, many of which involved sensitive issues such as child abuse, neglect, and termination of parental rights. She regularly partnered with the social work department, making home visits to meet with families in order to prepare evaluations and recommendations to the Court. Her public service work also includes volunteering at Sanctuary for Families in New York City, where she represented victims of domestic violence in divorce proceedings. Attorney Fox was honored with the Archibald R. Murray Service Award summa cum laude from Fordham University School of Law in recognition of her dedication of over 1,500 hours of pro bono work to victims of domestic violence and families in crisis while in law school.Super Lawyers Magazine named Attorney Fox on the Connecticut Rising Stars list as one of the top up-and-coming attorneys in Connecticut for 2018 and 2019.
