Mr. Akin received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Hofstra University in 1994 after graduating Cum Laude from the City University of New York, Brooklyn Campus in 1991 with a double major in Accounting and Business Administration. He is admitted to the bar of the states of New York and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.Mr. Akin represents victims of sexual harassment and employment discrimination (in addition to FLSA (minimum wage / overtime claims) in all its forms and against all types of entities. Being a zealous advocate for his clients, Mr. Akin is not afraid to take on the tougher cases.Mr. Akin is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers and the National Employment Lawyers Association; he is also a notary public in good standing and has served as an arbitrator for the Civil Court of the City of New York.
