Description | Susan King Shaw graduated from Colgate University with Honors in philosophy and religion in 1981 and received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1985, where she was Notes and Comments Editor of the Connecticut Law Review and a winner of the Loiselle moot court competition. Since 1985, her practice has been focused on civil litigation, including personal injury, medical malpractice, family law, workers compensation, probate matters, and employment litigation. She has tried multiple jury and court cases to verdict in the Connecticut state and federal courts, and has handled appeals before the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Attorney Shaw has also handled grievance arbitration matters before the Connecticut State Board of Mediation and Arbitration. She has served as a special master for family matters in New Haven and Middlesex Counties. From 2003-2007, she served as an alternate member of the Inland Wetlands Commission for the Town of Woodbridge. Attorney Shaw is admitted to practice before the Connecticut Superior Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She is a member of the New Haven County and Connecticut Bar Associations, the New Haven Bar Association Family Law Committee and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.
