| Description | Patrick represents his clients in the prosecution and defense of many types of civil litigation matters, primarily in the areas of commercial and business litigation, torts, and complex defense litigation. He also has significant experience advising clients in the area of insurance coverage and the defense of professional claims. His extensive experience in commercial litigation has permitted him to successfully represent large multinational corporations in both state and federal courts across the country. Patrick has also successfully assisted clients in class actions involving consumer warranty and antitrust claims. A former law clerk for Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Jon P. Wilcox, Patrick has utilized this opportunity, along with his litigation experience, to be involved in advising clients during various stages of both state and federal appellate proceedings. During the extensive discovery proceedings in this case, Patrick was issued a special deposition visa by the Japanese Embassy/Consulate in the United States and spent nearly a month preparing for and defending the depositions of client project personnel at the United States Embassy/Consulate in Osaka, Japan. · Successfully defended the contractual claims of a food vendor against a national grocer during a trial in federal court, resulting in a directed verdict in favor of his client. · Following the collapse of a farming client’s layer house, Patrick intervened in the subsequent investigation by engineers and insurance personnel and successfully obtained the recovery of insurance proceeds sufficient to reconstruct a modern facility and compensate his client for lost business income. · Successfully defended a manufacturer from anti-trust allegations of patent infringement, trade dress infringement and unfair competition in federal court. · Represented a manufacturer in the prosecution of a former employee for misappropriation of trade secrets and violation of a non-compete agreement resulting in the negotiation of a compensatory payment through mediation.
