Murray’s many interests include coral reef biology and reef aquarium husbandry. As a nationally recognized expert, he has spoken at numerous reef conferences around the country, been published multiple times in CORAL Magazine, and served as the general counsel to the Marine Aquarium Societies of North America. He is also an amateur astronomer and an avid bass fisherman, having competed in many fishing tournaments throughout the state of Texas. As the son of a WWII U.S. Navy veteran and the brother of a disabled Navy SEAL, Murray is a proud supporter of the U.S. military and veteran recovery. He volunteers with Heroes on the Water, a non-profit that provides veterans and first responders rehabilitative opportunities through kayak fishing. In addition to Heroes on the Water, Murray volunteers his time in assisting other organizations such as the Jesuit Preparatory School of Dallas and the Texas Astronomical Society.
