| Description | Matthew L. Schulis was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, where he attended H.B. Plant High School. Following graduation, Mr. Schulis attended Florida State University. Mr. Schulis was active in Greek life at Florida State and a re-founding member of his fraternity. Mr. Schulis graduated from FSU with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 2004.Mr. Schulis received his juris doctorate from Barry University College of Law in Orlando, Florida in 2008 and was admitted to the Florida Bar the same year. Mr. Schulis began his legal career in Brandon, Florida working primarily in the fields of consumer bankruptcy and civil litigation. He then returned to his hometown of Tampa and became Managing Attorney of prominent Florida Law firm where he concentrated on representing clients in consumer bankruptcy matters. Mr. Schulis later transitioned his practice to creditor’s rights representation, construction defect litigation, insurance defense and appellate practice. Mr. Schulis joined BLG in 2020.Mr. Schulis’ areas of concentration include all aspects of business and complex civil litigation, construction defect litigation, contract disputes, bankruptcy, collections, and insurance defense. He prides himself on analyzing a case, finding solutions, and obtaining favorable and efficient solutions for his clients.
