| Description | Lauren M. Maione-Walsh was born in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from the University of Miami in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and a minor in Political Science. While at UM, Lauren was a member of the Track & Field team where she trained as a pole vaulter. She also became involved in the school’s mock trial board and began traveling the state competing in Trial Team competitions. After graduating college, Lauren worked at a prominent international law firm in New York City. She then attended Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida. Stetson University conferred a Juris Doctorate upon her in 2009. Some of Lauren’s academic memberships and honors include Dean’s list, Honor Roll, Pro-Bono recognition, and a Leadership award. Lauren was invited to become a member of Stetson’s nationally recognized Trial Team and earned multiple advocacy awards. She also served as a Trial Advocacy Teaching Assistant for the Honorable Ralph Stoddard, Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, Hillsborough County. While in law school, Lauren completed internships with both the Federal Public Defender’s Office and the Honorable Elizabeth A. Kovachevich, U.S. District Court Middle District of Florida. Since graduating from Stetson in 2009, Lauren began her legal career at the Office of the Public Defender in Palm Beach County where she gained significant jury trial experience. She was most successful during the pre-trial stage in her motion writing and arguments at hearing. While there, she also worked in the appellate division where she drafted criminal appellate briefs to the Fourth District Court of Appeal, including an appeal from a guilty conviction at a first degree murder trial. Lauren began practicing insurance defense at a West Palm Beach law firm where she handled first party property damage claims, first party liability coverage litigation, and third party liability defense matters. She is experienced in handling matters including first party property, insurance coverage litigation, third party liability claims, automobile negligence, premises liability, UM/UIM claims, SIU matters and insurance litigation. Lauren is an active member in the Palm Beach County Bar Association and the Young Lawyer Division. She is licensed to practice in Florida and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida. Lauren and her family reside in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Her outside interests include boating, traveling, and spending time with her family. |
