| Description | Kristin M. Youkana joined Schmidt & Federico, P.C. in early 2016. She focuses her practice exclusively on all areas of family law including divorce, asset valuation and division, child support and alimony, child custody, modifications and contempt proceedings. Kristin received her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School, graduating summa cum laude in 2013, and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College in 2009. Prior to joining the firm, Kristin worked as an associate for a domestic relations firm in Worcester. Her experience in this area of law also includes a position as an intern with the Worcester Probate & Family Court and as a Supreme Judicial Court Rule 3:03 certified attorney with the Department of Children and Families. In law school, Kristin was a member of the Suffolk University Family Advocacy Clinic, where she represented indigent clients in contested family law matters.She is actively involved in various family law organizations including the Family Law Project for Battered Women through the Women’s Bar Foundation. She has authored an article published in the Massachusetts Family Law Journal entitled Intersection of Immigration and Family Law: Impact of Illegal Immigration in Child Custody Cases, Massachusetts Family Law Journal, Vol. 31, Issue 1 (2013). |
