DescriptionKirsty is well travelled, coming to the firm from Canada via England, Singapore, and Louisiana. She brings with her knowledge of their culture and legal systems. She has experience representing clients in intermediate appellate courts in the State of Texas and throughout all stages of litigation. Kirsty received her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Exeter in England, during which time she spent a year studying on exchange at the Singapore Management University. Kirsty began to develop her litigation skills at Exeter where she captained the International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot Competition team. Indulging her interest in maritime law, she honed her comparative law and research skills by authoring a dissertation titled Are the rights of claimants and defendants in admiralty law sufficiently balanced in relation to actions in rem in England and Singapore?. Following her Bachelor of Laws, Kirsty undertook a Master of Laws at Tulane University Law School, New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a Harry F. Stiles Jr. Scholar, the LL.M. Chair for the Maritime Law Society, and a Survey Editor for the Tulane Maritime Law Journal. Kirsty is a member of the State Bar of Texas, The Tarrant County, Bar Association, the Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel. She is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts in addition to the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern Districts of Texas.
