| Description | Katherine E. Lent graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts concentrating in both Political Science and history in 2011. After graduation, she spent a year working as a legal assistant at a small insurance-defense firm in Chicago. Katherine graduated cum laude from the University Of Richmond School Of Law in 2015. Katherine graduated with a Certificate of Concentration in Family Law with Distinction and received the CALI Award for the highest grade in Ethics in Family Law.While in law school, Katherine served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law and the Public Interest at Richmond. She is also a lifetime member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. Additionally, Katherine volunteered at the Harry L. Carrico Center for Pro Bono Service helping indigent people in the Richmond area obtain no-fault divorces. During her third year of law school, Katherine served as a student-associate with her Third Year Practice Certificate in the Jeanette Lipman Family Law Clinic. At the clinic, Katherine continued her work representing indigent clients in the Richmond area in various areas including: divorce, custody, visitation, domestic violence and foster care.During the summers in law school, Katherine was a law clerk at a top-rated family law firm in Chicago and externed for the Honorable Grace Dickler, Presiding Judge of the Cook County Domestic Relations Division and the Honorable Regina Scannicchio, Circuit Judge of the Cook County Domestic Relations Division. Both summer work experiences solidified her desire to work in the field of family law in the Chicago area after graduation.Katherine concentrates her practice in the areas of Family and Matrimonial Law including: divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities (formerly known as custody), parenting time (formerly known as visitation) child and spousal support, property distribution, prenuptial agreements, estate planning and probate matters. |
