| Description | Mr. Gerstein’s primary area of practice is in federal and state taxation and complex commercial transactions with a focus on real estate. Mr. Gerstein participates in all stages of tax planning and transaction structuring to assist clients in creating sound profitable tax efficient business enterprises. In addition, Mr. Gerstein regularly assists clients in contractual disputes and negotiation, strategic business planning, negotiations with the Internal Revenue Service and all areas related to commercial real estate transactions. Mr. Gerstein is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Psychology. Mr. Gerstein received his Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in finance from The Kogod School of Business at American University in Washington, D.C., and a Masters of Law (LLM) in Taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Maryland, the U.S. District Court in Greenbelt, Maryland and the United States Supreme Court. In addition, Mr. Gerstein is an active member of the Federal District Court for the District of Maryland and the United States Tax Court. Mr. Gerstein additionally holds his Series 7 (General Securities Representative), Series 24 (General Securities Principal), Series 63 (Uniform Agent State Law) and Series 79 (Investment Banking Representative) securities licenses. Mr. Gerstein is a frequent guest lecturer at local universities on the design and capitalization of efficient commercial real estate transactions. |
