| Description | Edwin Brondo brings nearly 14 years of broad legal experience in business transactions, corporate law, commercial real estate and litigation to the firm. Ed represents clients in business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and compliance issues, corporate intellectual property protection and commercial real estate matters. As a result of a strong business acumen and background in economics, Ed is often asked to counsel clients with respect to the handling of a variety of business matters, serve as general counsel to businesses, assist with mediating and creatively resolving partnership/business disputes, and advise clients on succession planning. His corporate practice also includes assessing the effectiveness of corporate compliance programs and providing compliance training in areas such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other anti-bribery laws, ITAR, information and technology governance and e-Discovery. Ed also advises clients on internet issues (terms of use, privacy policies, domain names, etc.), unfair trade practices/competition, product literature evaluation and revision, and regulatory compliance for certain specialized businesses. Ed also regularly appears in federal and state courts in New Jersey and New York, and throughout his career has tried and arbitrated many cases before various courts and other administrative tribunals across the country. His litigation experience includes commercial litigation, contract disputes, intellectual property protection and prosecution, unfair trade practices/competition, product liability, property and land use matters, firing range litigation, employment and environmental matters, construction matters and insurance coverage disputes. During his career, Ed has represented two of the three major U.S. automotive manufacturers as well as a large number of other product manufacturers, trade associations, businesses of all sizes, wholesale distributors, retail dealers, contractors, corporate executives, doctors, entrepreneurs and property owners. Ed’s experience representing product manufacturers also includes serving as national and regional counsel where he was responsible for managing litigation through local counsel. He has also successfully represented clients in many highly technical cases involving complex principles of engineering and science, and has a sound understanding of, and a noted ability to manage, such issues as a part of litigation. Ed also advises clients on estate planning and represents clients in estate administration matters throughout New York and New Jersey, including probate, administration proceedings, will contests, will and trust reformation and estate litigation. In addition, Ed’s experience with estate planning coupled with his business and corporate experience makes him especially well-equipped to assist clients with various aspects of asset protection including dynasty planning and using and setting up corporate entities and trusts for asset protection purposes. Prior to beginning his career in private practice, Ed served as a law clerk to the Honorable Louis C.
