| Description | Christopher L. Jones is from Easley, SC. He graduated from Presbyterian College Cum Laude with a B.A. in Philosophy and Religion in 2007. While at Presbyterian College, Chris was very involved with student activities. Most notably, Chris was elected as Chairman of the Honor Council in 2006, and served as President of his fraternity, Kappa Alpha Order. Chris went on to receive his J.D. from Charleston School of Law in 2010, and has been a member of the South Carolina Bar since that time. Chris began his career clerking for the Honorable Michael G. Nettles in Florence, SC. While clerking for Judge Nettles, Chris researched various civil and criminal legal matters, and discussed those topics with the Judge. After clerking, Chris began his career as a prosecutor where he gained valuable experience trying criminal cases from beginning to end. Chris worked as a prosecutor in the Pee Dee region, York county, and finally here in the 13th Circuit. By working in various areas across the state, Chris gained beneficial experience trying cases before a variety of Circuit Court Judges. During his time in the 13th Circuit Chris was a Violent Crime Prosecutor. Over Chris’ career his trial conviction rate was over 92%. Prior to opening his own firm in Greenville, SC, Chris worked in multiple jurisdictions in the state as a prosecutor. Chris spent several years in the 16th circuit that includes York County. Chris served in York County for over three years and enjoyed his time in that region of the state. While in York County Chris prosecuted a wide variety of cases include DUI domestic violence, and drug offenses. After getting engaged, Chris and his wife wanted to return to the upstate where he was from. Chris then worked for the 13th Circuit which includes Greenville and Pickens County. While in Greenville and Pickens counties Chris prosecuted violent crimes including murder, armed robbery, drug offenses. Chris’ experience working in York, Pickens, and Greenville counties allows him unique perspective when representing clients in those jurisdictions. Chris remains very involved in the community. He works as a mentor with Fostering Great Ideas where he offers guidance to children in foster care, and is also on the Mental Health Board for Pickens-Oconee-Anderson Counties. Chris and his family are active members of First Presbyterian Church, Greenville, SC. Chris married Molly Orr of High Point, NC in November of 2015 in Charleston, SC. Chris and Molly had their first child, Hunter, in May of 2017. In his spare time, Chris enjoys playing golf, tennis, and watching college football. |
