| Description | Mr. Sinnott is a life-long resident of Erie, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Academy High School in 1986 and Gannon University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. While at Gannon, Mr. Sinnott was a four-year letterman on the golf team, earning numerous athletic awards, including being named First Team All Region and All-American in 1990. Mr. Sinnott was also named as a finalist in the prestigious Walt Disney World – NACADA post-graduate scholar program for collegiate athletes intending to pursue post-graduate studies. Mr. Sinnott attended Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, graduating magna cum laude in 1993. While at Cleveland-Marshall, Mr. Sinnott received a number of academic awards, including: Justice Harry Blackmun Scholar, 1991-1993; Associate Editor, Cleveland State Law Review, 1991-1992; Executive Editor, Cleveland State Law Review, 1992-1993; West Publishing Company Book Award for outstanding legal writing. In addition, Mr. Sinnott’s Law Review Note, ‘When Defendant Becomes the Victim: A Child’s Recantation as Newly Discovered Evidence’, was published in the Cleveland State Law Review, Vol. 41, No. 3. Mr. Sinnott was admitted to the practice of law in 1993 and since that time, he has focused his practice exclusively in the area of civil litigation. His principal areas of concentration have been in municipal litigation, construction litigation, corporate litigation, professional liability litigation, and personal injury litigation. He has also handled numerous intellectual property matters, employee benefit cases, oil, gas and timber litigation, and workers’ compensation matters. Mr. Sinnott routinely practices before Pennsylvania’s state trial and appellate courts and the federal courts sitting in Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Erie County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, the American Association for Justice, and the American Bar Association. In addition to his practice, Mr. Sinnott has also been active as a volunteer in the Erie community. He has served as chair, co-chair, and treasurer of several political campaigns. He has served as chair of the transitition team for the Honorable Joseph E. Sinnott, 47th Mayor of the City of Erie, chair of the Erie Golf Commission, member of the Kahkwa Club’s Greens and Grounds Committee, member of the Gannon University Scholarship Golf Committee, Erie District Golf Association committee chair, an usher in his church, Board member of the Partnership for Erie’s Public School and Board member for the J. C. Martin Restoration Committee. |
