| Description | Syracuse attorney Christine Khamis is an Associate Attorney with The Marrone Law Firm, admitted to practice in New York in 2018. When Christine entered law school, she knew that she wanted to be able to help groups of people who are traditionally disadvantaged in our society. She had the opportunity to work as a law clerk at Legal Services of Central New York, where she was able to help her supervising attorney assist a number of low-income individuals with their legal issues. While in her second year of law school, Christine became interested in the areas of elder law and estate planning. She participated in the Elder Law Clinic as a student attorney to low-income elderly people, where she prepared wills, healthcare proxies, and powers of attorney documents and assisted with issues pertaining to Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare benefits. She also took the required coursework for Syracuse University College of Law’s Estate Planning Certificate. Christine began working for The Marrone Law Firm as a law clerk in May 2016, following her second year in law school. She officially became an Associate Attorney upon her admittance to the New York State Bar in January 2018. Of all of the work that she does as an Associate Attorney, she especially enjoys legal research and writing and estate litigation.
