| Description | Attorney Cary Valyo graduated from Duquesne University in 1981 and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1986, where he received Honors in Legal Research & Writing. Attorney Valyo is a member of Berger and Green’s Social Security Disability department, where he pursues claims against the Social Security Administration on behalf of people who are unable to work due to a physical or mental disability. He has successfully handled disability hearings in every corner of Pennsylvania, as well as northern West Virginia and southern New York. Attorney Valyo recognizes that his disability clients really want to work and that it is extremely frustrating for them that they can’t, due to some physical or mental disability. He really enjoys helping people who find themselves in this unfortunate situation. He is also very proud to work for a law firm, Berger and Green, which diligently and compassionately represents not just those who have been injured through the fault of others, but also those who are unable to work through no fault of their own. Prior to focusing his practice on helping the disabled, Attorney Valyo was a highly experienced personal injury trial attorney. He has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants in jury trials in Federal and State court, ranging from routine automobile accidents to the most complicated dangerous products cases. He has represented large corporations such as Allstate Insurance Company, Travelers Insurance Company, Westfield Insurance Company and WalMart, and in 2004, was named one of Westfield Insurance Company’s Top Trial Counsel. Having represented both plaintiffs and defendants, he has a unique ability to see the pros and cons, the plusses and minuses, of each individual case, which allows him to give good advice to his clients. He is now very pleased to use the advocacy skills he acquired as a long-time jury trial attorney, to benefit those who are disabled and can’t work. Attorney Valyo has, for over a decade, been awarded a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent rating, which means that his fellow lawyers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence. He also has the unique distinction of having been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in two separate practice areas in the past, Personal Injury and Social Security Disability. Attorney Valyo is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He resides in Forest Hills, Pennsylvania with his wife, Cheryl, and is extremely proud of his three children, Hayley, Olivia and Nathaniel. |
