She provides research and brief writing for case preparation at both the trial and appellate levels, in both state and federal courts. Litigation Support Beverly offers each practice group research and analysis of the law relevant to each case and the issues that arise, from initial case evaluation to final judgment. She writes or responds to many of the briefs necessary to the motion practice throughout the course of a case, including discovery motions, summary judgments, evidentiary motions, trial briefs and post-trial briefs. She has been extensively involved in the practice areas of construction, insurance defense, personal injury, employment law, and other commercial litigation. Appeals She has extensive background in reviewing trial records, researching and preparing briefs on appeal in both the state and federal systems, and has argued appeals in the Washington State Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C. A Principal in the firm, Beverly joined Winston & Cashatt in 1984 to focus on creating a research division to assist the litigation attorneys within the firm. She also taught legal research and writing at Gonzaga School of Law as an adjunct professor for over ten years. |
