| Description | Amy Muhlendorf has more than 15 years of experience as an attorney focused on employment law. She started her legal career in a large law firm and has held multiple in-house counsel positions, focused on employment law for government contracting and financial services firms. In addition, she broadened her experience by serving as Vice President of Human Resources for a government contracting company with more than 5000 employees, including many working overseas in austere environments. The combination of her experience allows her to provide practical and business-oriented advice to executives and managers on issues related to all aspects of the employer-employee relationship. Her specific strengths include preparing policies, procedures, and handbooks that are both legally complaint and easy for employees to understand, advising on issues related to federal and state employment laws, such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Acts of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act, and creating solutions to complex employee-related matters. She has performed many investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination, and other violations of law or policy and has successfully defended employers in administrative claims and litigation matters. Amy also develops and delivers employment law and compliance related training to employees at all levels, including current and aspiring managers. Amy received her J.D. from American University, where she was the Executive Editor of the American University International Law Review. She also received a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Delaware and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Hartford. |
