| Description | Amanda Ortega is a New England native. She moved to Florida while in high school and lived in Sarasota until college. Mandy obtained her Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies at Keiser University and then attended Stetson University College of Law. While attending law school at night, Mandy worked full time as a paralegal for the Florida Department of Children and Families. While in law school, Ms. Ortega became Editor of the Stetson Law Review, and was elected Vice President of the Student Bar Association. She graduated law school cum laude, and immediately began litigating dependency cases for the Department of Children and Families. Subsequently, Ms. Ortega became an Assistant State Attorney in the Twelfth Judicial Circuit, where she litigated criminal cases ranging from misdemeanor, juvenile, and felony offenses. She also gained significant experience litigating child support matters for the Florida Department of Revenue.
