Mr. Kakish has earned a Superb AVVO rating and has been recognized by multiple state and national organizations including Super Lawyers and the National College for DUI Defense.Prior to joining Dworken & Bernstein in 2019, Jeff worked at a small boutique firm specializing in drunk driving offenses DUI / OVI.From 2012-2015, Mr. Kakish served as an Assistant Public Defender in Lake County, Ohio. Through his service, Mr. Kakish gained valuable experience in defending OVI / DUI, Criminal, Traffic, and Domestic Relations cases in Juvenile, Municipal and Common Pleas Courts.While honing his trial skills during the past eight years, Mr. Kakish continued his education in drugs and alcohol through forensic science coursework at Axion Training Institute in Chicago, Illinois. In 2016, after completing the necessary coursework and passing a lengthy examination approved by the American Chemical Society, Jeffrey Kakish became the first licensed Ohio attorney to earn the ACS-CHAL Forensic Lawyer-Scientist Designation. Having already received his certificate for completing the DWI Detection & Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Course recognized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2015, Mr. Kakish wanted more. Sure enough, in 2019, Jeff undertook and successfully completed the DWI Detection & SFST Instructor Development Course recognized by the International Association of Chiefs of Police.Mr. Kakish is committed to professional development showcased through training, continuing legal education, and membership in professional associations. In addition, Mr. Kakish is a valued speaker at Ohio CLE Programs with recent invites to speak for the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Parma Bar Association and Sandusky Bar Association. |
